Return to Main Page WELCOME TO ROCKY BOTTOM CAMP OF THE BLIND It is a pleasure to have you visit our camp. We hope your stay here is a pleasant one. We need your help and support in keeping our camp beautiful and maintained so that we can all be proud of it. Please leave the buildings you use in the same good condition that you find them in. Check in with a Resident Manager and pick up a sign in sheet for each group. All groups and individuals reserving Osterneck Cottage, Oglesby Cottage, Morris Building, Lawton Hall, Ellenburg Lodge or using all facilities and grounds will leave the premises in the same good condition as upon arrival. Facilities and grounds will be inspected by the Resident Managers before departure. The Resident Managers must know at least 30 minutes before a group leaves in order to make a proper inspection of the facilities and the group may not leave until the inspection has been made. If anything is broken, damaged or misplaced, you will be charged. All rental fees must be paid to the Resident Managers upon arrival. RULES AND REGULATIONS: 1. Check in with Resident Managers and pick up a sign in sheet for each group. All groups and individuals reserving Osterneck Cottage, Oglesby Cottage, Morris Building, Lawton Hall or using all facilities and grounds will leave the premises in the same good condition as upon arrival, which will be inspected by a Resident Manager before departure. In consideration of all who are occupying the facilities, quiet hours will be observed beginning at 12 midnight. 4. All long distance calls must be charged to home phone numbers or to personal accounts. No one should charge personal calls to the camp. The telephone will be answered by the Resident Managers at all times unless otherwise specified. 5. Each person or group is responsible for removal of trash or garbage from the premises before leaving. 6. Check with the Resident Manager concerning the operation of all major appliances. No one should tamper with, repair or move furniture or appliances without proper permission. 7. There shall be no open flames or fire in any facilities except in the fireplace. 8. No pets allowed. 9. There will be no running or horseplay through the cottages. 10. To accommodate growing use of the facilities by the blind and others and in order to be fair, the Board of Directors asks that NFB of SC members and the blind continue to enjoy the facilities but, except under unusual circumstances, limit use of the facilities to two three day weekends or one full week per year by individuals and/or groups. REMINDERS: 1. Each person or group should supply their own food and utilize the camp's food preparation facilities. Kitchen appliances and utensils are in the kitchen for use by all. The kitchen should be cleaned after each use, including the stove and refrigerator. Groups will be responsible for cleaning the gas grill after each use. 2. Each person will be responsible for providing his/her own linens, towels, blankets, soap, dish detergent, kitchen paper towels and other personal items. Pillows are available at the cottages. 3. Please check with a manager concerning cleaning supplies toilet tissue and trash bags. 4. Check with a manager about lost and found items. 5. Rocky Bottom Camp of the Blind will not be responsible for injuries which occur while at the camp but will render every possible assistance. 6. No one should tamper with, repair or move appliances without proper permission. Please do not rearrange any furniture or remove any item from one room or another area without express permission of a Resident Manager 7. Check in with a manager upon arrival and check out with a manager before leaving to be sure all necessary cleaning has been done. Check in time begins at 3:30 p.m. and check out time ends at 2:00 p.m. 8. Please be sure to turn in all keys at check out time. If keys are not turned in, there will be a charge of $5 per key to cover the cost of replacement. 9.No pets allowed. For any further information : or call: All pricing is subject to change at any time. PROCESSING FEES The processing fee is non-refundable. No reservations confirmed without this processing fee. A $30 processing fee for the Osterneck Cottage or Oglesby Cottage is required upon submitting a reservation request. Each Morris Building bedroom reserved requires a $10 non-refundable processing fee. A $30 processing fee is required for reserving the dining room and kitchen of the Morris Building. Any cancellation or change in reservation date will result in forfeiture of the $30 processing fee. FEES THAT APPLY TO GROUPS OTHER THAN THE BLIND USING THE CAMP: OVERNIGHT ACCOMMODATIONS: OGLESBY COTTAGE: Accommodations up to ten people. The processing fee is $30 per reservation. 1-5 people - $ 70 per night 6 people - $ 82 per night 7 people - $ 92 per night 8 people - $102 per night 9 people - $112 per night 10 people - $122 per night OSTERNECK COTTAGE: Accommodations up to 30 people. The processing fee is $30 per reservation.A minimum fee of $100 per night. Children under 6, no charge. Children 6 - 16, $10 per night. Adults 17 and over, $15 per night. MORRIS BUILDING: Accommodations up to 12 people The processing fee is $10 per bedroom. Bedrooms, $65 per night, 1 to 4 occupancy per room. Morris Building Dining Hall and Kitchen: $30 process fee per reservation Dining Hall-$ 100 per day Kitchen, $50 per day Groups of less than ten (10) will not be allowed to use this commercial kitchen. Instead, you may use one of the other two kitchens in the Osterneck Cottage or the Oglesby Cottage if available. You are also welcome to use the coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave oven in the Morris Building Canteen. Ralph M. Ellenburg, Sr. Lodge: Accommodates up to 40 with 4 in each bedroom. Processing fees: $10.00 per bedroom per night, Cost per bedroom, $65.00 per night (1 to 4 per room) $50.00 for kitchen- one time fee (per reservation)More than one group may utilize the Ellenburg Lodge when there is available space for more than one group. Day use of grounds for business groups - \$50. Day use of grounds for non-profit, community or civic groups and churches - \$35. This does not include the use of other facilities except for public rest rooms. Campgrounds must be cleaned and all trash hauled off to the dumpsters by all groups using the campgrounds.
